Built on decades of motion-picture experience.

From production partnership to film financing to global media rights.

FilmCrest Motion Pictures was originally formed in 1977 as a United Kingdom production partnership with Columbia Pictures. The FilmCrest materials describe a production and distribution history of more than 178 feature films. Including MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, KRAMER VS. KRAMER, USED CARS, STRIPES, TOOTSIE, SILVERADO, STAND BY ME, FRIGHT NIGHT, LA BAMBA and THE LAST EMPEROR.

After the Columbia partnership concluded, FilmCrest was relaunched as a film financing company. Over the following three decades, FilmCrest financed production, marketing, distribution, prints and advertising costs for more than 370 films, representing more than $4.3 billion in aggregate financing.

02 / THE MEDIA LANDSCAPE

Streaming changed the business. FilmCrest changed with it.

The economics of content are being rewritten by on-demand viewing, platform competition, global accessibility and new advertising-supported models.

Traditional release windows now operate alongside subscription and advertising-supported platforms that prioritize engagement, data and worldwide reach. For independent producers and content owners, that creates opportunity—but also greater complexity across rights, licensing, financing and distribution.

FilmCrest has evolved into FilmCrest Media to address this environment with a large library of film and television content under management, film financing assistance and U.S. distribution representation.

04 / FILM FINANCING

The project may be viable.
The capital has to be structured correctly.

Independent productions often sit between traditional studio financing and pure private-equity capital. FilmCrest’s financing approach is designed to bridge that gap around identifiable revenue sources and production collateral.

01

Pre-Sale Financing

Convert contracted distribution agreements into production capital before the underlying revenue is received.

  • Structured against distribution and licensing agreements
  • Earlier access to committed revenue
  • Helps complete the financing stack
02

Tax Credit Financing

Bridge state or international film incentives before the credit or rebate is monetized.

  • Improves production cash flow during filming
  • Bridges incentive timing
  • Can reduce reliance on equity capital
03

Gap Financing

Close the difference between committed financing and the total production budget.

  • Structured around pre-sales and distribution agreements
  • Completes the production capital stack
  • Supports partially financed independent productions

05 / STRUCTURE THE CAPITAL STACK

Multiple sources.
One executable financing plan.

Film financing is often about assembling complementary capital sources rather than relying on a single check. FilmCrest’s source materials describe structuring financing around tax incentives, distribution contracts, pre-sales, minimum guarantees and investor equity.
